Statistical Thought: A Perspective and History (Mathematics)

Author(s)

Chatterjee is no longer a statistics professor there, but still picks up mail at the University of Calcutta for the Calcutta Statistical Association. Primarily for readers with a solid background in statistical theory, but perhaps also for knowledgeable philosophers and logicians, he traces the course of development of statistical concepts from the perspective of their current state. The study is not a history, so the chronological details are often sidelined, especially for the 20th century, in order to highlight contributions that have played important roles in the future course of development.
