As the youngest of five daughters, Jackarta (Jack) Finnegan has accepted her fate as a bridesmaid. Her oldest sister Alex is married. Then Victoria and Paris are engaged. From the start, Jack has vowed not to date anyone until the end of the weddings. Both times that she has brought dates to weddings have been disasters, causing her firm belief in the Wedding Curse. Then she meets Leo, who is the most handsome guy she has ever seen. However, he is the son of the Finnegans' wedding planner, which adds a layer to the taboo. When her closest sister, Sofia, decides to elope in Vegas, Jack and Leo follow, and share a room where they become intimate. Sofia decides not to elope, and when they get back, Jack decides not to bring Leo to Paris's wedding, and Leo is hurt. In the end, Jack realizes that she would rather have Leo by her side, and brave out the Wedding Curse. Leo accepts her apology, and they attend Paris's wedding together. This book keeps to a light humor and at times incites chuckles-out-loud. The sometimes outrageous situations are usually believable and humorous, though most events are predictable.
