Street Authorities Are Empowered, Under Section 72 Of New Roads And Street Works Act 1991, To Carry Out Investigatory Works To Check On Whether Or Not An Undertaker Has Complied With The Duties Placed On It In Respect Of Reinstatement Of The Street. The 1992 Code Came Into Operation In England, Scotland And Wales On 1 January 1993. The 2002 Code Supersedes, For England Only, The 1992 Code (isbn 0115511482), With Effect From 1 October 2002, But Scotland And Wales Are Still Subject To The 1992 Code, Because Street Works Have Been A Devolved Matter In Scotland And Wales With Effect From 1999.
