Management Information Systems: Solving Business Problems With Information Technology

Management Information Systems,taught in schools of business either at the undergraduate level in the Junior/Senior year,or at the MBA level. To better motivate students,this new text focuses on how managers apply MIS to solve business problems and improve their organizations. Instead of emphasizing technology and definitions,Post/Anderson focuses on learning to use information technology to improve management. One overriding question throughout the chapters of the text is: How can managers improve their organizations' performance in the business environment? One primary theme of Post/Anderson is integrating information. The text illustrates how an information system can capture,transmit,and utilize information from diverse locations,different departments,and in various formats to give managers access to the information that leads to better decision making for solving problems and improving the organization.
