This New Critical Edition Aims To Return It To The Centre Of Scholarly Attention, Both By Presenting A Readable And Usable Greek Text - A Task Which Some Previous Scholars Claimed Was Impossible, Based On Thecorruption In The Surviving Manuscripts - And By Mapping Out The Wide Range Of Metaliterary Jokes, References, And Parodies Concealed Within The Poem's Apparently Simple And Childish Story.
