This is a unique textbook focused on pediatric topics routinely encountered in pediatric practice. The contributors present sound clinical advice punctuated with occasional pearls, which will benefit anyone who is interested in this subject. The purpose is to provide sound clinical advice about twenty common pediatric subjects authored by well known academic pediatricians with years of clinical experience. This textbook is written for individuals who provide medical care for infants, children, and adolescents. The information presented will be beneficial to any clinical pediatric provider including medical students, nurse practitioners, and seasoned clinicians. I found this book to be user friendly and easy to read. Well-marked subtitles in each chapter helped me find and focus on a particular area of interest. The many graphs, algorithms, and figures are easy to follow and beneficial. Even though each chapter is basic general pediatrics, the content as expressed by the contributor is clinical and very worthwhile. The four chapters on Health Supervision were of particular interest to me as this topic can be mundane and uninteresting. This textbook would be a valuable addition to the library of any pediatric provider. The topics are well written, current, and sprinkled with helpful clinical pearls. The convenient smaller size of the book is also an attractive feature. I believe this is a unique publication and it will be rewarding to all those who chose to read it.
